On March 17, 2020 Sodexo laid off their employees due the COVID-19 pandemic. The School Department and Sodexo then after decided to open up 17 schools with 70 employees, to help feed the children in the Springfield Schools area. As of today April 16, 2020 Sodexo has opened up three (3) more school to expand their locations to feed the children. Sodexo is looking for 15 more employees to work at these schools. If they do not have enough employees willing to work at these schools Sodexo may have to seek reverse seniority. On April 15, 2020 the union sent out a letter to Mark Jeffrey the Resident District Manager of Sodexo Asking for a $2.50 more per hour hazard pay.
As of this time we are waiting on the Employer response back.
