Dan has dedicated much of his adult life fighting and protecting union rights and the middle class.  He tirelessly supported labor law that promotes the right to organize and bargain collectively.  On social issues, Dan supported immigration rights, healthcare reform, justice for civil rights, local events, charities (such as the tornado victims in 2012 in Springfield) and animal rights.  A strong leader and humanitarian has said goodbye and he will be sorely missed by his co-workers and by the members he has proudly represented over the years.
As we look to the future with recent attacks on unions by radical right wing politicians and now the Supreme Court, we must stand together and resist anyone or any organization who seeks to destroy or our right to organize and bargain collectively for a better more prosperous future.
