Stop & Shop Bargaining Update 3/3

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On Tuesday, March 1, Stop & Shop presented each of the five New England locals with a very complex economic proposal.  As a result of this, the five locals determined that we needed time to fully digest and scrutinize each proposal in order to properly respond to each demand by the Company.

Also, because we had been in negotiations for nine straight days, the Presidents needed to return to their respective offices to deal with other work that has been backing up in their absence.
We have notified the Company, through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, that we will resume negotiations on Wednesday March 9th in an effort to draw these negotiations to a close.

Union representatives will be in the stores throughout the next week to answer any questions you may have to the best of their ability.  Continue to look for updates on our social media sites, and continue to engage customers with leafleting.

Remember, our unity is our strength and our strength is our unity.

In Solidarity
I remain sincerely and fraternally yours,

Daniel P. Clifford
