Stop & Shop Bargaining Update for Wednesday, Jan. 6

Good day brothers and sisters,

We are pleased to report that on January 5, 2016 and January 6, 2016, the five New England Locals began bargaining with Stop & Shop on a new successor agreement.  Both sides exchanged proposals on non-economic issues that they are interested in addressing during this bargaining session.

It is still very early in the process and neither side has committed to any changes to this point.

Each Local has committed, along with the Company, in securing 15 additional dates between now and the expiration of this contract on February 27, 2016 in an attempt to settle this contract.

If the past has been any indication, this is often a long and arduous process.  So we ask that you remain calm and follow the direction of your Local Leadership.  Please continue to check your local’s website as well as social media sites for updates on future negotiations.

Remember, our unity is our strength, and our strength is our unity.

In Solidarity,

President Dan Clifford
